Bracknell Parochial Church Council (“the PCC”) adopted the following statement of intent regarding young people serving.

Young People Serving

We want to encourage young people to actively participate in serving across the life of the church, including supporting children’s ministry and volunteering in other appropriate roles. This provides opportunities for them to develop confidence, responsibility and a sense of belonging within our church community. While our safeguarding guidance recommends a five-year age gap between young volunteers and the children they support, we recognise that younger teenagers can, where appropriate, contribute in a supporting capacity, with suitable adult supervision and never in a position of sole responsibility. We will seek to create safe, age-appropriate, opportunities for young people to serve, while always prioritising the safeguarding and wellbeing of everyone involved.
