This privacy policy applies between you, the User of this website, and the Parish of Bracknell, the owner and provider of this website. The Parish of Bracknell takes the privacy of your information very seriously. This privacy policy applies to our use of any and all data collected by us or provided by you in relation to your use of the website. Please read it carefully.
Data we collect
We may collect the following data, which includes personal data, from you: your name; contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers; and, automatically, your IP address, web browser type and version, and operating system.
How we collect data
Data is either given to us by you (for example when you contact us through the website, by telephone, post or email) or collected automatically via cookies, in line with the cookie settings on your browser.
Our use of data
We use your data for internal record keeping and to respond to your enquiries. We may use your data where we deem it necessary for our legitimate interests. You have the right to object in certain circumstances.
The weekly bulletin and our church database
When you subscribe to the weekly bulletin, the details you provide (your name, email address and any phone numbers you choose to add) are stored in ChurchSuite, the church management system used by the Parish of Bracknell, and become part of our parish address book. The Parish of Bracknell remains the data controller for this information; ChurchSuite Ltd processes it on our behalf under its own safeguards (see the ChurchSuite privacy notice). We use these details to send you the weekly bulletin and, where you have opted in, other parish communications. We do not share them with anyone else, and we keep them only for as long as you wish to hear from us. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email or by contacting the Parish Office, and you can ask us to update or remove your details at any time.
Donations and event tickets (Zeffy)
Online donations and event ticket bookings on this website are handled by Zeffy, the fundraising platform we use. When you donate or book, Zeffy collects your details directly (such as your name, email address, billing address and payment card details) and handles them under its own privacy policy; card details go to Zeffy's payment processor and are never seen or stored by the parish. Zeffy shares with us the information we need to administer your donation or booking – such as your name, contact details and, where given, your Gift Aid declaration – and we use it only for that purpose. Gift Aid records are kept for the period HMRC requires; otherwise we keep this information only as long as our accounts need it. To ask about or remove your details, please contact the Parish Office.
Keeping data secure
We store your data on secure servers and have technical and organisational measures in place to deal with any suspected data breach. If you suspect any misuse, loss or unauthorised access to your data, please let us know immediately.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to our use of your data, and the right to data portability. To make enquiries or exercise any of your rights, please contact the Parish Office. If you are not satisfied with how a complaint is handled, you may refer it to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
The Parish of Bracknell reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time as necessary or as required by law. Any changes will be posted on this page.
