This privacy policy applies between you, the User of this website, and the Parish of Bracknell, the owner and provider of this website. The Parish of Bracknell takes the privacy of your information very seriously. This privacy policy applies to our use of any and all data collected by us or provided by you in relation to your use of the website. Please read it carefully.
Data we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number and message. Our hosting and security systems may also process technical information such as an IP address, browser details and request logs to deliver and protect the website.
How we collect data
Information is given to us when you contact us, register, subscribe, donate or otherwise choose to provide it. Necessary browser storage supports security, sessions and your privacy preference. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Optional embedded services
With your permission, ChurchSuite and Zeffy content can be loaded inside this website. Those providers may then use their own cookies or similar storage to supply the form you requested. If you decline optional cookies, we provide a clearly labelled link that opens the service on the provider's own website instead. You can change your choice at any time using the link in the website footer.
Our use of data
We use your data for internal record keeping and to respond to your enquiries. We may use your data where we deem it necessary for our legitimate interests. You have the right to object in certain circumstances.
The weekly bulletin and our church database
When you subscribe to the weekly bulletin, the name, email address and consent you provide are stored in ChurchSuite, the church management system used by the Parish of Bracknell. The Parish remains the data controller and ChurchSuite Ltd processes the information on our behalf under its own safeguards (see the ChurchSuite privacy notice). We use the details to send the weekly bulletin and retain them only while you wish to hear from us. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or ask the Parish Office to update or remove your details.
Donations, bookings and reCAPTCHA
Zeffy processes information you provide through donation or booking forms under the Zeffy privacy policy. If Google reCAPTCHA is configured on the contact form, it is used only there as a security measure to prevent abuse under the Google privacy policy. Provider links and disclosures are shown beside the relevant action before the service is loaded.
Donations and event tickets (Zeffy)
Online donations and event ticket bookings on this website are handled by Zeffy, the fundraising platform we use. When you donate or book, Zeffy collects your details directly (such as your name, email address, billing address and payment card details) and handles them under its own privacy policy; card details go to Zeffy's payment processor and are never seen or stored by the parish. Zeffy shares with us the information we need to administer your donation or booking – such as your name, contact details and, where given, your Gift Aid declaration – and we use it only for that purpose. Gift Aid records are kept for the period HMRC requires; otherwise we keep this information only as long as our accounts need it. To ask about or remove your details, please contact the Parish Office.
Keeping data secure
We store your data on secure servers and have technical and organisational measures in place to deal with any suspected data breach. If you suspect any misuse, loss or unauthorised access to your data, please let us know immediately.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to our use of your data, and the right to data portability. To make enquiries or exercise any of your rights, please contact the Parish Office. If you are not satisfied with how a complaint is handled, you may refer it to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
The Parish of Bracknell reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time as necessary or as required by law. Any changes will be posted on this page.
