Our organ fundraising concert at Holy Trinity on Saturday 12 September 2026 raised £1,750 towards the church's organ project. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
For Fabio Marques, our musical director, this was his first full concert. The programme brought together the classical organ tradition, church music, Brazilian rhythms and familiar film music, reflecting the music he enjoys playing.
The programme ranged from Bach's celebrated Toccata in D minor to music by Schubert, Ernesto Nazareth and Antônio Carlos Jobim. A film medley brought together Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean, while the audience was invited to join in with Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer and Jerusalem. Lemmens's Fanfare provided the finale.
Supporting music at Holy Trinity
The replacement digital organ had been installed shortly before the concert and was already in use. The £1,750 raised will help recoup the investment and support the remaining work on the organ project.
At the time of the concert, that work included removing the old organ console and its unused structure, making good the space, and eventually moving the new instrument into its permanent position. The project carries forward Holy Trinity's long tradition of music in worship and community life.
Warm thanks go to Fabio, everyone who came along or donated, and all those who organised the concert, provided refreshments or helped behind the scenes. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.
The concert also featured in the Bracknell News. You can revisit the concert details or find out how to support the parish and organ fund.
