Eco Church

Our place in creation is fragile,

As Christ’s church we are called to care and to tend – for each other and for the world which we have been given.

‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.’ (Genesis 1.1-2: New Living Translation)

This is a General Election year.

Green Christian and Operation Noah have joined forces to create a pack to help us all think about the election in the context of ecological and climate issues. Tap or click on the poster to download the pack.

There is information about climate and the A Rocha Green Church Award. More information about this can be found on the A Rocha Website

See the latest EcoChurch Newsletter here.

There are many ideas about the current state of the world, we may not agree with Extinction Rebellion or Just Stop Oil but it cannot be denied that  our impact on the earth is very significant. Is our impact what the words of God mean in Genesis? Does subdue mean pollute? Does dominion mean destroy? What do you think?

‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.’ (Genesis 1.28: NRSV)
